I snapped all these portraits while I was out in Europe with A Day To Remember earlier this year. I really like taking these kinds of portraits, close up and simple. All of them were done on the fly in under a couple minutes with at least one speedlite, sometimes two. I used a white shoot through umbrella to diffuse the light and a combination or stands/ clamps to secure it wherever I may be at. For the most part I would set up lighting, test it out, wait for my subject to get close- and then steal them for a few seconds. If that didn’t work I would go to wherever the subject was hanging or working at and start setting up around them. All of these images were shot inside of various venues- in our green room, on stage etc. Enjoy!
